Change the theme¶
Snakie comes in two looks: a bright Light theme and a cosy Dark theme. This page shows you how to switch between them.
Where the theme picker lives¶
The theme setting is in the Settings window, on the Appearance tab.
- Look at the activity bar — the tall strip of icons down the left edge of Snakie.
- Click the gear icon (Settings) near the bottom.
- In the window that opens, click the Appearance tab.
- Under Theme, click Light or Dark.
That's it! The whole app changes straight away, and your choice is saved automatically — Snakie remembers it next time you open it.

The two themes¶
| Theme | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Light | The bright default. A skeuomorph skin — meaning it copies real materials like brushed metal, felt, and cream notebook paper. |
| Dark | A calm, lights-out look that's easy on the eyes in a dark room. |
Tip
Both themes work everywhere in Snakie — the editor, the shell, the Board View and all the instruments. Pick whichever feels nicest to you; you can change it back any time.
Note
On the same Appearance tab you'll also find a Breadboard background choice (Dark or Blueprint) for the Board View. That's separate from the app theme.
